OT Services Available Virtually Across Ontario

  What We Do

Neurodivergence

Do you have a diagnosis or perhaps you’re exploring the idea that you have Autism, ADHD or sensory processing differences?  A CATS OT can support you to learn how to work with your unique brain to make work, school, play and intimacy easier. We can support you with common co-occurring conditions and find mindfulness, movement and routine-building skills designed for you.

Sensory Assessment

Do you feel more sensitive than others around you to lights sound and touch? Do you want to better understand your sensory needs and how they affect your emotional regulation, attention and overall well-being. Through interview, standardized assessment and potentially in person assessment, you can learn how to better manage sensory input, develop skills to address your sensory differences and feel more relaxed and confident in challenging environments.

Executive Functioning

Organization, planning, time management and emotional regulation are all considered executive functioning skills. Occupational therapists can help work with with you to develop an effective life routines, and find strategies to meet your obligations at work home or school.

Cognitive Behavioural Therapy

Recognizing how our thoughts affect our feelings and actions. CBT focuses on challenging thoughts and considering evidence while testing action plans to create a more balanced thought.

Parent Coaching

When having an occupational therapist work directly with your child doesn’t feel like enough, you might benefit from one-on-one parent coaching time. We can dig deep into your current parenting strategies, brainstorm how to apply new ideas at home and celebrate small parenting wins.

What we DO NOT offer

We do not offer adult equipment scripts, wheelchair assessments or in home safety assessments. Our staff is not ADP authorized. If you are looking for services such as this we recommend reaching out to your local home and community care support services.

About Us

At Collaborative Approach Therapy Services (CATS) we believe in working as a team, with you as the captain. We want to offer the supports and services that YOU want to receive. Whether it be 1:1 regularly scheduled treatment, or short term consultation, in clinic or consulting in home or community. You may need guidance to know what services are good options, in which case we will take the time to understand your goals, needs, and barriers. We pride ourselves in being open, honest and flexible.

We strive to make you a team member not just a client. As your team member we listen, push, challenge and support you to conquer and overcome life’s challenges.

Collaborative Approach Therapy Services offers a unique opportunity for independence and team collaboration. The ability to access other OTs in the field opens up a wealth of experience, resources, problem solving and mentorship. Therapists own and operate their own clinics, but belong to a supportive team of professionals, resulting in a balance of independence and team, supporting both the therapist and the clients.

Collaborative Approach was founded in 2018 by two Occupational Therapists, Alison Hendricks and Sue Wahl. With experience and passion for OT they set their focus on paediatrics and adult mental health. Their vision is to provide a space for therapists to feel supported which in turn provides better care to clients.
